Celebrate Walk to School Day with us on October 3rd

National Walk to School Day started in 1997 as a one-day event to build awareness for the need of walkable communities. It is now a global event that involves thousands of schools in more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day.  What started as a one day event has led to the creation of a year- round Safe Routes to School Program.  Electa Quinney will be celebrating this day on Thursday, October 3rd.

Electa Quinney Students Can Participate Any of These Ways:

👉Students who walk or bike to school on a daily basis bring a signed permission slip to get credit for participation while adhering to their normal daily route.
👉Students can be dropped off or meet at one of the locations listed below between 7:15-7:20 a.m. on the morning of Oct. 3rd to walk the route to school with a group from one of these Kaukauna Parks…
❤Jonen Park (on Fieldcrest; will use tunnel to cross CE)
❤Fieldcrest Park (corner of Main and Frances; will use tunnel to cross CE)
❤Little Tykes Tot Lot (corner of Joshua and Travis)
Note: There will be supervision provided by Quinney staff and/or volunteers (with district approved background checks).

👉If weather is inclement and the event needs to be canceled, this will be posted on our school website and via Facebook at/by 6 a.m. that day.
👉Students who are bused to school, who are not able to meet at the parks to walk with us that morning can walk the sidewalks bordering playground during their AM recess to show their participation in being active for health and recreation.

Students participating in the event will receive a Vertical Velocity pass and be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a prize from Safe Routes East Central, such as t-shirts, Subway gift cards, sunglasses, and reflective zipper pulls.  Click here for more information and the slip for parents to sign (slips are used for the participation drawing).

        Homecoming Week is Here!!!

During the week of Sept. 23rd-27th, Electa Quinney Elementary will be celebrating homecoming along with the High School.  To help all of our elementary students to feel a part of the festivities, we will have dress-up days as follows:

        Monday, Sept. 23 :   Hat/Crazy Hair Day
Tuesday, Sept. 24 :   Crazy Sock Day
Wednesday, Sept. 25 :   (Parade Day) Quinney Shirt (or orange/black)
        Thursday, Sept. 26 :   Disney/Superhero Day
Friday, Sept. 27 :   Orange/Black Kaukauna Spirit Wear

In addition, all schools are again invited to walk in the parade to support their school and the team. The parade will take place on Wednesday, September 25 at 6:00 PM.  We recognize that Wednesday is the night of Religious Education classes for some of our students which may prohibit participation for some families. The homecoming plans are directed by the high school and we are appreciative of the opportunity to participate.

If you would like to walk with your child in the parade please feel free to join us by meeting at the Holy Cross/St. Ignatius playground at 5:15 PM on Wednesday.  Children must have a parent/adult walking with them in the parade.  Several of the children will have the opportunity to carry the school banner since we will be switching off throughout the parade. Click here for further information.

Tuesday - Parent Advisory Committee Meeting

Come join us for the first PAC Meeting! Tuesday, September 24, 6-7 p.m. in the Library Media Center. We need you at PAC! We have such a great team and wonderful plan for this year's Electa Quinney PAC! It will be easy to join the group at this time. We will work together to provide awesome events and school spirit and support. Volunteering with the PAC can be so rewarding to you, to your children and our staff. Why should you come to this meeting? Being a part of PAC and volunteering with Quinney helps your child, our teachers and staff, and provides a sense of community and family for our school. I hope to see you there!
