There are a great many worthy undertakings in the Kaukauna Area School District that understandably deserve public support. The Board of Education/School District assist with this process in providing notice to students and/or families of certain non-school-related community activities/programs that are for public school-age students (that apply and meet policy conditions). Friday, February 22nd is a Wisconsin School Observance Day honoring the first president of the United States. Washington was born February 22, 1732; died 1799. He is honored for his efforts to create a new nation dedicated to the rights of the people.Observed as a federal holiday (Presidents' Day) on the third Monday in February. (Monday, February 18, 2019) Originally part of court statutes to observe these days and was enacted for the schools on June 27, 1923, from the 1923 Laws of Wisconsin, Chapter 307, section 20.

Scoopie Night is Tuesday, Feb. 10th from 5 to 8 at the Darboy location. Come see some of our Quinney staff who will be working that night. Stop in to eat, take out your food, or swing through the drive-thru for dinner or custard.
Feel free to share this with your friends and neighbors as well. Join fellow EQ families at Culver's for dinner! 10% of the profits during those hours will be given to Electa Quinney PAC.

Kids Heart Challenge including Dance with DJ 5:30-7:00 pm
Our Family Event takes place this week, Thursday, February 13th.This will be an Open House format (come and go as you wish, do not need to attend entire time) with 20+ centers/stations set up in both gyms and in the cafeteria a dance with DJ sponsored by the PAC for kids and parents. Students received paperwork for participating in the sponsor collection for Kids Heart Challenge. Families can also assist their student by participating online in raising funds...

K9 PENNY DRIVE ENDS FRIDAY!
KASD Elementary Schools in partnership with Kaukauna K9 Committee is hosting a Penny Drive February 3 -14 at all Kaukauna elementary schools to help raise funds for the K9.
Clean out your coat pockets, check under your couch and in the car seats. Keep your eyes on the ground. Let’s see how much we can raise!!

At the September 23, 2019 meeting, the KASD Board of Education approved a change to the 2019-2020 parent calendar, moving a staff professional development day (a no-school day for students) from Friday, February 21, 2020 to Monday, February 17, 2020. The move will allow certified staff members and administration the opportunity to attend a regional professional development offering with nearly 3,000 other educators from more than 20 districts throughout Wisconsin.

Have you given the Box Tops for Education App a try? It is certainly different than the previous clipping of Box Tops. In some ways it makes it easier, scan your receipt right away, nothing to cut, no box tops laying on your counter or in your drawers. However, in other ways it makes it more difficult, remembering to or taking the time to "scan" the receipt. One thing that’s great about the app is that since you don’t have to hand in the Box Tops personally, the school you support could be anywhere in the country. This means grandparents and other family members who might live far away can easily help the schools of the kids they love. If you haven't done so yet, remind grandparents or other family members that they can also download the app and have their box top scanned receipts qualify for Electa Quinney. KASD Launches District App
There's an app for that. KASD is excited to announce that we have launched a new district app, available in both the Apple App and Google Play stores. The app enables parents, students, and staff the ability to stay connected and informed about what’s happening at Kaukauna Area School District. KASD's app is free, and provides parents with quick access to everything school-related including calendars, directions to events, contact information for teachers and administrators, important documents, cafeteria menus, and more.
