A child’s ability to read has a direct effect on their future success. Reading with your child helps to increase their vocabulary and improves their reading fluency and comprehension.

Our annual #QuinneyReads school event will take place this month starting with Read Across America Week as the kick-off.  We will celebrate reading throughout the week and month at school by reading a fun ways, with mystery readers, and more.  The PAC is also pairing this event with a Read-a-thon fundraiser.  Watch your email for more information throughout the month.  At the culmination of the month students will each receive a book purchased by the EQ PAC.

On March 2nd, as part of Read Across America, we encourage EVERYONE to pick up a book and read to a child.  Whether it’s a beloved classic or something new and exciting, we encourage you to spread the joy of reading.  For more information, visit NEA’s Read Across America site at www.readacrossamerica.org.

YEARBOOK DEADLINE is March 15th!

Here is the link for the online ordering of the Electa Quinney yearbook.   The link will close on March 15th.

Parents may also go to our website www.networkphoto.net  select the FALL PREPAY tab and type in Electa Quinney.

Help kids grow up alcohol-free:

Have small talks

Small talks about underage drinking can make a difference in a kid’s choices. That’s because kids really do listen. Research shows having frequent, casual conversations about alcohol, starting around age 8, can be a lot more effective—and a lot less intimidating—than one super serious discussion. So, start talking. Keep listening. Help give a kid the confidence to grow up alcohol-free. Visit SmallTalksWI.org (link is external) for talk tips, facts, and more. “Small Talks” is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services in collaboration with partners statewide including the Kaukauna Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Abuse Prevention Board.

Community Events and Activity Flyers

There are a great many worthy undertakings in the Kaukauna Area School District that understandably deserve public support. The Board of Education/School District assist with this process in providing notice to students and/or families of certain non-school-related community activities/programs that are for public school-age students (that apply and meet policy conditions). Click here or visit the school district website to view the up to date list of events and flyers.
