Electa Quinney students are invited to join Fang’s Reading Club with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers!!!!
Fang will be visiting Electa Quinney Monday, January 30th during lunch to kick off our Fang's Reading Program!
Information will be sent home on Monday about the program. Students read their reading minutes to earn a free soda, hot dog and ticket voucher to Family Night at the Timber Rattler Game on Friday, May 12th at 6:40pm.
The reading program will start on January 30th and conclude on March 24th! The first base cutout is due to your child’s teacher on Friday, February 10th!
No Homework Model
We are hoping “No Homework Model” has alleviated some additional stress on families and allowed for more family time with your child. Research says that homework in Primary school has zero effect on academic achievement. A reminder that although your child will not be bringing home nightly homework, they are still expected to read 15-20 minutes each night. Your child’s teacher may be sending home additional items for your child to work on if they did not finish in class. The teacher will be in contact with you if this is the case. Thank you for helping to make sure your child is still getting in the nightly reading!!!

Honesty Newsletter:
It’s not always easy to be Honest in our words, actions, or thoughts with others or with ourselves. Practicing Honesty with ourselves allows for us to identify emotions, be aware of our emotions, regulate emotions, and advocate for our emotions. This month's focus for Quinney Cougars is on using Honesty to help with emotion advocacy.
Conversation Starters:
- What is 1 strong emotion you had this week? How did you react or respond to it?
- Share how being Honest with ourselves can help us to be more confident, calm, or focused?
