Wisconsin Forward Exam Testing
Each spring our students in grades 3 & 4 participate in the WI Forward Exam testing. The WI Forward Exam will begin this week and continue through April 28.
Tips for Parents
1. Make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before test sessions.
2. On the morning of the test sessions, your child needs to get up in plenty of time so he/she won't feel rushed.
3. Feed your child a good breakfast. Research shows that children do better on tests if they have had a good breakfast.
4. Do as much as you can to make your child feel comfortable. Try not to say things to make him/her feel more nervous.
5. Reassure your child that no matter the outcome of the test you will still love him/her. Encourage them to simply do their best.

APRIL Focus = COURAGE
Courage Newsletter:
We all experience moments in our life when we have to make a choice to do what is right or Kind. Sometimes, it’s not easy to know what choice to make. We need to have the right tools to make those decisions and to be strong enough to follow through. This month's focus is Courage with the help of flexible thinking.
Conversation Starters:
- Can you describe how flexible-thinking helps you make Kind choices?
- How have you have practiced Courage this week?
Color Run
Save the date on your calendar - Our end of the year celebratory Color Run event will be held in the early evening on Thursday, May 18th. This will be our 5th annual Electa Quinney Color Run! This year the color run will be in the evening for both students and families to participate. The run/walk will take place around Electa Quinney School (typically a 1.5 mi format). Participants will be showered with colored powder, made of food-grade corn starch, at color stations along the route. We refrain from booklet sale fundraisers and use this as our main fundraiser; beyond the cost of materials and the event, the remainder goes to benefit the students supporting end of the year activities and future events such as teacher classroom materials, student birthday books, speakers, field trips and assemblies, family/community events, and more.
