District Wide Food Drive

Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the temperature drops and winter draws closer, food and other necessities become essential for many families in our community. To help out those who need it most, Kaukauna's National Honor Society is sponsoring a district-wide food drive to contribute to Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry.

From November 1st through November 21st, we will host a food drive competition between the schools within the Kaukauna Area School District. The school that contributes the most canned goods, non-perishable foods, or monetary donations will not only have the satisfaction of helping their community but will also receive the traveling "Food Drive Trophy" that will be displayed in their school until next November.

National Honor Society is looking forward to your help in a record-breaking food drive to assist the less fortunate members of our community. Please mark your calendars and participate in this friendly competition to help raise money and donations for a great cause.

Thank you for your generosity,
Kaukauna National Honor Society

PurposeFULL People = GRATITUDE

Gratitude Newsletter:
Often we can find ourselves noticing things that we don’t like or that we wish were different. Choosing to appreciate things in our life, things in others, and things in the world can be a challenge, but practicing Gratitude will help us to be more confident, calm, and focused. This month's focus is on using Gratitude to support emotion advocacy.

Coversation Starters:
Can you describe for me what emotion advocacy means?
Why is it important for us to be Grateful for our emotions?
What can our emotions teach us about ourselves?

    Book Fair Hours

The Book Fair will be open more hours since the Friday e-mail with more volunteers signing up.  As of 11:00 on Saturday the Book Fair will be open...

    • Tuesday, Nov. 19 - 4:00-5:45

      • (volunteer cashiers still needed for 12:30-4:00)

The profits raised during Book Fairs come to Electa Quinney in the form of Scholastic Dollars.  We use the Scholastic Dollars to purchase the birthday books that each student receives on his/her birthday, the book boxes students use each day in their classroom, our BookFlix subscription that students can use at school and home, classroom carpets for group time, and so much more.  Thank you for sharing your time for our students and school!

If you are still interested in volunteering as a cashier we are still seeking volunteers to work one hour openings at our Scholastic Book Fair during the this week's Parent/Student/Teacher conferences.   Please note that each time slot is only one hour long.  Just an hour of your time before or after your conference would mean a lot to our school!  Thanks for considering!

Donating for Teacher Meals for Parent Teacher Conferences

Each year the PAC provides dinner for our teachers during conferences to show our appreciation for all of their hard work, especially the extra time they put into preparing for, and participating in, Parent Teacher Conferences. Your monetary, food and supply donations are greatly appreciated in helping us make this dinner a success.  Please consider bringing a item;  simply click the links below to sign up to help.

PAC Meeting - Monday, Nov. 25

Join us for our next PAC Meeting on Monday, November 25th, 6-7 pm.   So far this year we have been able to purchase alternative seating scoop seats for 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms.  We purchased a Stuart Little book for each student, have scheduled to Stuart Little movie on the big inflatable FunFlicks screen for December, set fundraising events for the year, and more.

Our Tom's Drive-in night raised $240.14.  Thank you for attending EQ families and friends!!!

Again, we thank all families for their help in all the fundraising efforts of the PAC as those funds provide the ability to purchase these useful items for our students and teachers.  The PAC is currently planning multiple small restaurant nights for families to choose from and then ONE BIG FUNDRAISER for the school again, the third annual Color Run/Basket Raffle.  Please watch for more news later in the year about that great school and family event that raises funds for the events such as the Matt Wilhelm Assembly in January, the books for students, snacks for family events, the alternative seating items, and more.

Family Event  & Extra November Assembly

We added an extra all school assembly in November to celebrate the first Electa Quinney Day recognized by the state and to kick off our #QuinneyReads book for '19-20.  During the assembly student and teacher teams competed in answering questions about what they would do if they were 2 inches tall like Stuart.  The student body cheered for the answers they enjoyed most.  Stuart Little even stopped to visit!
